On March 1st, we hired Anna Barnett as our Senior Project Assistant. With her added skills, our Admin team has gained new strengths. Koné Consulting looks forward to working with a talented and kind person.

I’m a nerd. A mom. A bookworm. I’m someone who enjoys leaving a positive impact, helping create meaningful change. I’m also one small drop in a very big world. Of course, that hasn’t stopped me, yet. I’m Anna, and I am honored and elated to be Senior Project Assistant on the Koné Consulting team.

I grew up in a working-class home, raised on grit and grace by a tenacious single mom and a “granny” of strong faith and iron will. They taught me both the power and dignity of hard work and the importance of perseverance. I’ve invested that motivation and good will into a decade-long career of creative and support service across several industries and numerous organizations throughout Maryland, including: The Kennedy Krieger Foundation, The Martin Pollack Project, Radio Reading Network for the Blind and Medifast. Experiences that have forged me as a professional, shaped my perspective, and have written the pages of my career story. I’m thrilled to unfurl the latest chapter of that story with Koné Consulting.

Much of my development to date has been in the vein of marketing, administration, and communications. I’ve written since college (even having been ceremoniously honored Journalist of the Year for Investigative Reporting in 2006 as a columnist for my school’s student-run journal). Apparently, that bug and I haven’t divorced. Since college, I've served as a corporate technical writer as well as a regular contributing ghostwriter for small companies and independent business owners throughout the U.S. Embarking on a journey in public health and human services will be a very new—very rewarding—adventure for me. I’m eager to dive in.

Already, this year has been the beginning of so many wonderful ventures, including a blind faith leap with my family, transplanting from the eastern seaboard to Washington State, pursuing a marketing focus at the University of Maryland Global Campus and, later, becoming part of a remarkable organization backed by an amazing team. I’m super excited for what the future holds, and happy to welcome it with tacos and a glass of wine. - Anna
