Gratitude for KC Graduate Interns

As the academic year gets underway again, I’ve been thinking about the graduate school interns we’ve had come through our doors at Koné Consulting over the years. We hired our first intern through the Evans School of Public Policy at the University of Washington in 2021 and have had eight exceptional student interns since. Kristie Schultz - our 2022 Evans School intern - was such a good fit, we offered her a permanent position after she graduated. She has been capably managing projects for us for over four years. Thank you, Kristie, for the detailed care and kindness you bring to our work.

This year we are privileged to have two graduate interns join our KC family for the school year -  Stephen Dada and Yvette Tian. Stay tuned for future posts where they will each tell you more about themselves.

We were inspired to create an internship opportunity at KC because we recognized during the pandemic that opportunities for students to do work in the community were lacking. We could do our part to help develop the next generation of leaders by creating on-the-job opportunities to work on projects with our public and non-profit clients.

The interns that have passed through our organization have all successfully used their time at KC as a career stepping stone. Christina and I are proud when we see career updates from our alumni on LinkedIn.  We are also proud that half of our interns have been international students, which has enriched our knowledge of the world and public policy globally.

-With appreciation, Alicia
