Victory Mask proceeds help women and children in Cote d’Ivoire
Edmonds, WA. What started as a homegrown project supplying a few masks to family and friends, and to help flatten the curve, quickly grew into a regular operation of order processing, cutting, sewing and shipping located down the hall and around the corner from Koné Consulting HQ (Alicia’s home office) in the Koné family living room. For every mask purchased, 20% of proceeds are donated to two non-profits in Côte d Ivoire, Africa, whose purpose is to empower women and children through education, entrepreneurship, and raising awareness on issues of equity.
Thank you, to everyone who has purchased a Victory Mask and made this effort possible.
With over $600 raised for our charities from proceeds to date, we’d like to share how the funds are being used:
St. Genevieve Welcome Center in Katiola, which was first started to rescue infants and children from abandonment and infanticide, and now supports family reunification through education and efforts toward economic security in surrounding rural villages, will have internet services and a Koné Consulting designed webpage to further support raising awareness of their efforts and, ultimately, provide a way for raising funds for a new facility to include better housing, classrooms, and vocational opportunities.
Women Entrepreneurs and Leaders (W.E.L.) has chosen to use their funds to set up and maintain a Zoom account subscription, allowing them to more efficiently organize, fundraise and offer online workshops and meetings to young women eager to learn skills necessary to foster financial independence, gain advanced education, take on leadership roles and promote issues of social justice in their communities.
We are excited to see how these organizations put these new resources to use continuing their good work!
