Back home: Our successful CI pilot tour
I’m excited to share we’ve returned from our successful Travel With Purpose pilot tour to Côte d’Ivoire (Ivory Coast), Africa, where we spent 13 days immersed in cultural exchange, traversing the bustling neighborhoods of urban Abidjan, small rural villages outside Katiola/Bouaké, and the artist community around the beach in Grand Bassam. We met wonderful and welcoming people, shared in the joy of collaborative good works, visited historical sites and sites of natural beauty, and had all the attiéké we could eat! (Attiéké is made from fermented grated cassava root similar in texture to couscous.)
Special thanks to our group of 16 intrepid travelers who signed on to share this inaugural journey with us. Consisting of multi-generational family members, professionals, students, and retirees, each participant brought their own unique perspective; together we navigated new experiences, shared lots of laughter and gained deep friendships along the way.
We look forward to sharing trip highlights and photos over the next several weeks, including details on our partnerships with WEL NGO and St. Genevieve Orphanage of Katiola, and invite you to experience Côte d’Ivoire by traveling with us next year!
