Client Spotlight: City of Beaverton, Oregon

We love to hear from past clients about current successes – and we recently heard from Leigh Crabtree, Assistant Community Development Director for the City of Beaverton, who thanked our Koné Consulting team for setting them off in the right direction based on our previous work together.

We’re here to say, “Great job and congratulations!” to our friends in the City of Beaverton’s Community Development and Public Works Departments, who implemented Lean tools and learning from our 2015-2018 re-design project to gain City Council’s approval of contracts for their new Electronic Permitting System. In addition to value stream improvement, process mapping and coaching, we conducted a technology assessment of Beaverton’s automated development review process. The lack of automation in the review process was one of the root causes of delays and rework identified by staff on the improvement team. Once the system is fully operational, it will improve services for developers and private citizens seeking to make improvements to their homes.

We enjoyed our collaboration with the folks in Beaverton and are glad our time together has created lasting improvements for their community.
