Celebrating new beginnings

With the New Year comes a new wave of gratitude from us at Koné Consulting. We feel incredibly humbled and inspired by everyone for finishing out 2020 and launching us into 2021. Today, we want to recognize the hard work of our partners at Women, Entrepreneurs and Leaders (WEL) NGO and all they have done throughout the pandemic to continue their inspirational community work. Please join us in wishing them happy holidays and good health heading into 2021!

WEL NGO members have been busy bees during the 2020 holiday season, working hard to improve the lives of women in Côte d’Ivoire (CI) despite these trying times. Their most recent project, MACA, was focused on providing supplies and a holiday party for a women’s prison in Abidjan, CI. Elodie Kouadio, founder of WEL, her husband Maxime, and WEL’s group of Change Makers were able to deliver much needed supplies to the women and their children in prison including, but not limited to, formula, food, water bottles, diapers, tissues, washtubs, and JOY. In an effort to support their work, Koné Consulting matched all of our internal team members’ (and their famillies’) donations and was able to send WEL $1,000 USD in support of this project.

As we head into 2021, WEL is already putting their next empowerment project together – the African Art House. This social entrepreneurship project is devoted to training vulnerable girls and women so they can become financially independent and empowered through making handmade goods to sell.
