Introducing Tom

Hello, my name is Tom McQueeny and I’m Kone Consulting’s new research associate. I received my MPA from the Evans School at the University of Washington in June of 2020, which means two things: I’m well acquainted with stakeholder mapping and facilitation exercises, as well as digging into the nitty gritty of policy. It also means I, like so many of us, saw in real-time the gaps in our social welfare systems in the face of an unprecedented crisis like the coronavirus. I’m excited about joining a team that believes in designing sustainable, equitable solutions while building compassionate relationships with each other and our clients.

I was raised in New Jersey and, despite its many flaws, there’s no state in the country that makes better pasta. In New Jersey, I interned for a U.S. senator, NJ TRANSIT and I served on a county level political campaign. I also studied abroad in Berlin and can speak (passable) German. I’ve road tripped from coast to coast and run marathons across the country, but no matter where I’ve gone, I know that the relationships I have made will always be a part of me and my growth as a person. I’m proud to be a part of a team that values initiating change and nurturing growth and am ready to get to work.
