My name is Mary Connolly (she/her) and I just began my time as a Research Associate at Koné. I’m excited to be a part of the team and work with our clients to address social inequities. I completed my first year studying Public Administration at the Evans School at the University of Washington and decided to attend graduate school to pursue my passion around building equitable communities where everyone has what they need to live well. Before attending graduate school, I was an Americorps member for two years: one as a Jesuit Volunteer at a shelter for people experiencing homelessness, and one as a VISTA at United Way of Pierce County, where I coordinated community engagement and collaboration efforts.

Although I am from Maryland (and have lived in Indiana and Seattle), I came to Tacoma 3 years ago during my time as a Jesuit Volunteer and stuck around for the wonderful people and community here. I live in the Tacoma Catholic Worker community, where I volunteer at a transitional shelter, do outreach to my unhoused neighbors, garden, and spend time with my beloved neighbors. In my free time, I love spending time with friends and enjoying the beauty of Washington.
