Nelson Mandela International Day

Yesterday was Nelson Mandela International Day and he fought for some of the same things that the KC Team has worked towards the past 11 years. He fought for many things, including race and gender equality and the rights of children and other vulnerable groups; the fight against poverty, and the promotion of social justice.

At Koné Consulting, we work every day to solve the social problem of inequality in income and opportunities. As Nelson Mandela inspired change and struggled for democracy, we inspire and promote lasting change in government and non-profit sectors to help ensure that democracy is supporting those who need it most.

Mandela fought for gender equality in a culture of patriarchy in South Africa and for the past three years, KC has been partnering with WEL NGO to support their efforts in empowering the women in Côte d’Ivoire through entrepreneurship and independence.

Nelson Mandela struggled for equal rights for every human, not just the ones with power. He continues to inspire Alicia Koné, President of Koné Consulting, and the rest of the team to stand up for those human rights and to work towards a future where everyone is equal.

We ask that you take a moment and think about how you can take action, like Nelson Mandela did, in supporting vulnerable groups in your community.
